Saubhagya Scheme Sahaj Bijli Ghar Yojana
Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath has introduced a new scheme for the benefit of the locals. The new scheme, entitled as- Uttar Pradesh Sahaj Bijli Ghar Yojana 2018 will provide electrical connections to every household in Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh is a densely populated state with a large number of villages and districts. The large population of the state, however, has not been able to acquire electrical connections. The Sahaj Bijli Ghar Yojana 2018 is a part of Digital India program and the UP Government with this scheme is all focused on digitizing the rural areas.
Sahaj Bijli Ghar Yojana Benefits
- The scheme will benefit the backward class or poor families of the state
- Without electricity, women and girls fear to get out of their homes. This scheme will resolve the issue
- Those who can’t afford electrical connections in the rural areas will benefit with the scheme

Sahaj Bijli Ghar Yojana Features
- 60:40 is the ratio of the central government and state government under this scheme
- As per the survey, around 16 lakh families in rural areas and 3 lakh families in urban areas are living without electricity
- The estimated budget for this scheme is tallied to 7100 crore
- The families who are registered under BPL SECC 2011 will be provided with free meter connections
- The other families will get electric meter connections in just Rs.500/- with the benefit of 10 easy installments on electricity bill payments
- The applicants can apply online for registering as the beneficiary of the scheme

- Address proof of the applicant stating that he/she is the permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh
